My Deer

I got this little pin last month. Sort of a valentine to myself, I guess. I found it on Etsy (of course) from the vintage seller Find Me A Memory. It's so sweet and bright. I just adore it and it only cost me a few dollars. Browsing through all the great vintage things on Etsy is so much fun!

Amazing Artwork

Etsy never fails to deliver amazing new artwork. When I found this shop the other day I was simply blown away. Naoshi has some of the most gorgeous and vibrant prints I've seen. I wish I could buy them all! My absolute favorites are the twin prints. Amazing.

Oh My

Let me start off by saying that I am a huge Black Keys fan. Huge. Last week my husband told me he had a little surprise for me. When he laid this CD in my lap I was beyond thrilled. Keep It Hid is the debut solo album of The Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach. It is amazing. I love each and every song on this album and I so love my husband for giving it to me. Thank you, honey.

Spring Forward

Thanks to Daylight Savings we lost an hour today. That's all right because Spring is just around the corner. This year, for the first time, I'm going to start some seeds indoors. I can't wait! My son drew the charming little frame for my pictures above with sidewalk chalk. He loves to help out!

A Full Scale Toy Grocery War

Yesterday, the plastic french fry battle continued and this time I really was ambushed. I was sitting in the dining room eating my breakfast when I heard both boys quietly descending the stairs. They were whispering so I knew something was up. Suddenly my youngest appeared in the kitchen doorway, plastic french fry in hand, a big grin on his face. His brother, who was hiding safely around the corner, yelled "Fire!" The french fry was launched followed by many many more. A full scale toy grocery war resulted involving the whole family. Toy cereal boxes were brought into play along with fake hamburger buns and plastic bananas. I believe an eggplant may have been involved. I guess it proves that old saying that no matter what you give a little boy, he will find some way to turn it into a weapon.

Plastic French Fries Make Good Missiles

Plastic french fries make good missiles. I found this out today when my son ambushed me in his room. He prefaced it by brandishing said french fries at me and saying "I'm gonna hit you with these" so I guess it wasn't too much of an ambush. And so started 30 minutes of french fry war all over the house. My aim is terrible so he was smart enough to wait for me to throw and miss. Then he snatched up my ammunition and used it against me. I finally had to beg off because of my nasty cold. All that laughing set off my cough so we called a truce.
That second photo up there is the bouquet of flowers that my husband brought home for me today. Aren't I lucky?

What Happened To February?

Can somebody tell me what happened to February? It seems like I blinked and it was gone. Here it is March 2nd already. Even though it is freezing here today I'm still thinking of spring. I hope, I hope it gets here soon.

Another Flocking Success!

I'm so taken with flocking right now that I decided to extend it to jewelry. Here are my three new pins and I am so happy with them! They are simple circles of wood with the flocked silhouette image. I love simple, elegant pins and these are just that. Plus, the flocking gives them a soft velvety texture that adds an extra charm. My son took the top photo for me and I think it turned out great! I may have to promote him to assisstant photographer for my shop! You can purchase the pins here!
