I've decided that a Giveaway is long overdue. So, here it is. The Chickadee's Nest's first Giveaway! Up for grabs is a set of my Elegant Moth bookplates. You can read more about them
here. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment telling me what one of your favorite books is. On Monday I will randomly draw a name and announce the winner. Then, the winner can email me to give me their address. Sound like fun? I'm looking forward to hearing from everyone!
Yay! I love giveaways! This is a hard question, but I would answer "Orlando" by Virginia Woolf.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Tara
Thanks for entering Tara! I hate to admit this but I haven't read Orlando yet. I need to put that right at the top of my "Must Read" list.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite books is called The Blue Zones: Lessons for Living Longer From the People Who've Lived the Longest by Dan Buettner. Its is about places all over the world where people live the longest. Absolutely amazing!
ReplyDeleteI've kept my copy of Carolyn See's "The Handyman" for just such a question. It's time to re-read it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jess.Diana and Susan! I'm going to write all of these down.
ReplyDeleteLove the bookplates, have used them since I was a little girl!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorites is "Watership Down". Kim
Thanks Hay is for Bunnies! The pictures on your site are adorable.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool idea!!! Nothing is better than a good book!!! One of my favorites is "Water for Elephants" by Sara Gruen. I couldn't put it down. It is a circus story and it is FABULOUS!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mimi! I've heard of that one but I haven't read it yet.
ReplyDeleteGosh, it is very difficult to choose just one, seeing as I am a total book slut.
ReplyDeleteI love everything written by Françoise Sagan. She writes so very succinctly on the human condition, and with such wit and intensity. Wonderful clouds is a good starting place, but seriously, every book of hers is worth reading.
I am also a massive Michael Faber fan, The Crimson Petal and The White is one of my most loved stories ever.
Frank Kafka's The Trial gave me the heebie jeebies for weeks afterwards, I had to take a break in between and read something fluffy to prolong the experience of feeling so uncomfortable whilst reading a book. It actually gave me strange dreams, one of them being me involved in a trial, not knowing why.
OK, I will stop now, I am blabbing.
Lovely blog by the way.
Oh, after all that,I forgot to say, my mother used to call me chickadee when I was little :0)
ReplyDeleteThat is how I found you, by noticing your name in somebody's blog roll.
