One of my favorite places to visit is German Village, a historic district just south of downtown Columbus.
It is such a beautiful place to stroll.
Every nook and crany is filled with something interesting-architectual details, wrought iron gates and door knockers, tiny gardens in the most unlikely places, and trees that turn such beautiful shades in the fall and scatter their leave across the brick roads and sidewalks.
I also found one of the loveliest gardens I have ever seen. Filled edge to edge with flowers, it has no less than 120 mandevillas. Mandevillas just happen to be one of my favorite flowers.

Along with some amazing deli's and restaurants, German Village is home to The Book Loft. It is one of my favorite book stores.
A rambling old house with 32 rooms (some the size of a living room and others the size of a closet), it has maps in every room so that you won't get lost.
Because, seriously, you can get lost in it.
